About Us
Kantu Spa Cusco
Kantu Spa opened its doors in Cusco’s historic center in 2014, at a time when most massage options for travelers in the city were either generic hotel add-ons or informal street offers with no real consistency. The idea behind Kantu was simple: build a dedicated massage center, run by people who actually live in Cusco, using techniques and ingredients that come from this region rather than a copy-paste spa menu you’d find anywhere in the world.
More than a decade later, that’s still the core of what we do. We’re a small, focused team — not a hotel spa department, not a franchise — a few minutes’ walk from Plaza de Armas, working with travelers who are usually either adjusting to the altitude, recovering from a trek, or simply looking for a real place to slow down between one Andean adventure and the next.
Our Story
Kantu takes its name from the kantuta, the sacred flower of the Andes — a detail that shapes how we think about the treatments themselves. Several of our signature massages, like the Inca Massage and the Kantu Massage, are built around ingredients that are genuinely regional: coca leaf, muña, Maras salt, rosemary sourced locally rather than imported oils with no connection to where you actually are.
Meet our team

Violeta — Founder & Manager
Violeta founded Kantu Spa in 2014 and still runs the day-to-day of the center today.

Miriam — Hot Stone Massage Specialist
Miriam specializes in our Hot Stone Massage treatments, working with heated stones to reach the kind of deep, sustained muscle tension that hand pressure alone often can't fully release.

Laura — Relaxing Massage Specialist
Laura focuses on our Gentle Relaxing Massage and Swedish Massage treatments, the sessions we most often recommend to travelers arriving in Cusco for the first time.
What Makes Kantu Spa Different
- Andean ingredients, not generic spa products. Coca leaf cream, muña, rosemary oil, and Maras salt appear across several of our treatments — ingredients chosen because they’re regionally relevant, not because they’re what every spa menu includes.
- A team that actually lives in Cusco. We’re not rotating staff from a hotel chain — the people treating you work here, year-round, in this city.
- Built around how travelers actually use Cusco. Several of our treatments, like the High-Altitude Massage and the post-trek focus of the Kantu Massage, are designed around the specific physical experience of visiting this city — altitude adjustment, trekking recovery, long days on cobblestone streets — not a one-size-fits-all spa menu.
- A few minutes from Plaza de Armas. Close enough to fit into a day of sightseeing, far enough from the main square to feel like an actual break from it.
What Our Guests Say
We’re also rated among the top spas in Cusco on Tripadvisor and Google, based on reviews from travelers who’ve booked directly with us — not a number we generate ourselves, but one you can check independently before booking.
